Over the summer 2013

Over the summer i went on a trip down to Blackpool and stayed in a b&b near the city center. It was a good week with some family and friends. I stayed up late most nights because of the disco and karaoke and i had a few too many drinks but overall it was really good. For the rest of the holiday i mainly chilled out and met up with some friends and had a few sociable drinks.

I would like to do well this year and achieve good grades like i did last year. I went to create some of the good work that i produced last year.

I would like to achieve more on the IT side of the course for example on photoshop and illustrator.

Contextual Studies

We have been doing contextual studies for a while on many different art movements.When we had to do a task we were in groups and my group got given Young British Artists (YBA's). We decided to choose The Hunger Games to work with and when we looked into it we stuck with the bird theme. Since the young british artists try to be quite controversial me and my group tried to do the same by adding the dead bird looking like it has been ran over. We put our design onto The Hunger Games book and this is the outcome we achieved. We added effects such as splatters of blood and oil and the writing we took from the actual hunger games book but we slightly changed it by the colour overall I think we have achieved what we wanted to do and we have got our message across really well and I dont think there is anything we need to change.

Your a smoothie

This was a project that we got set to design our own smoothie. For the project i decided to focus on the older generation because i thought that was a weakness in the market. All the way through i had to focus on who my target customers where and design around them. You can see by my finished things i went for a vintage style so it looked quite old fashioned so people could tell who it was for. I done my finished logo hand drawn first and then i put it into photoshop to add effects. These are my finished products.

Packaging

This was a packaging project in which we were asked to design packaging for a company. I chose superdry, i decided to go down the route of the ethic of superdry and its background, during my research i looked into the history of japan. I drew out loads of things such as dragons, women and little japanese huts. This was my final piece which i drew by hand and put into photoshop to add more colours and make it stand out. I kept the superdry logo the same so you can tell which company it was for. I am really pleased with my final outcome.

On the surface

This was the latest project that i was given for my graphics course. The project was called on the surface and i chose urban to do my project on. I focused on the parkour and free running side of urbanisation so these are my two final pieces. I put a wall on one of my patterns and silhouettes of parkour/free runners and the other a concrete background and with the people on which i used the pen tool the get the shape and made them into brushes. Overall we had to put them onto magazine covers for the little white lies i really like my outcomes for this projects.

Blueberry

This was originally a photo that I changed to make it look like a piece of art work. I done this in photoshop to create the effect I used the blur tool to make it look like an oil painting, the brush I used was an oil pastel to get the nice glowing effect I have achieved here.

Jingle Bells

This piece of work was a random saying which i experimented with using different brushes on photoshop to create effects. I used ink splats and runs to create the effect I have got, the background is a canvas with different brush stains added to it to make it look old.
